PS: Brief Example

If the Plymouth Student magazine came as a brief, for myself and the team to create, this is how I imagine it may have looked:

Brief Title:
Plymouth Student Publication

Start Date:
June 2011

Print Deadline Date:
8th September 2011

Distribution Deadline Date:
22nd September 2011

Brief:
Create a 24 page newspaper, aimed at students in Plymouth, with relevant content. The process will involve layout design, photography, writing articles and generating advertising interest to fund the project.

Alongside the creation of the magazine, create a website to maintain online interest as well as the usual social networking profiles to help that along.

After these processes have be completed, 20,000 copies of the magazine will be printed and distributed around the city. 5,000 will be delivered through doors in student based areas, 5,000 will be given to stockists in the city (shops, small businesses, etc) and the remaining 10,000 will be handed out to students during PCA's Fresher's Week, the University's Fresher's Week and also on the street by a number of volunteers.

When creating the earliest processes of Plymouth Student, we laid out everything that would have to be done in order to successfully create a business opportunity. Obviously, this brief is a simplified version.
